The beautiful 1939 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 of Benito Mussolini

The beautiful collectibles that were owned by public figures are, as a rule, easier to sell, but is that the case with those who belonged to the notorious dictators?

The extraordinary sample, we see on the pictures, Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Berlinetta, was bought by dictator Benito Mussolini in 1939 and presented to his mistress Clara Petachi. It is a filigree making of the famous Carrozzeria Touring, and the Clara vehicle was used only with a personal chauffeur.

Her last trip was marked with this car. When the dictator’s rule ended, Clara was caught on the run and captured by the partisans in this car and later executed along with Mussolini.

After the end of the war, the 915033 chassis number was taken over by an American military officer and sent directly to the United States, where his trail was lost, until 1970 when he was found abandoned at a farm.

It is then restored on its original state, and the brilliant restoration is the work of Francesco Bonfanti, an expert on Alfa Romeo. The impressive collector sample will be offered for sale on February 4 in Paris, by RM Auctions.
